Question 1

What is Ledger.com/start?

Accepted Answer

Ledger.com/start is the official starting point for setting up a Ledger hardware wallet. It gathers the wallet app download for Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS and Android, guidance on device setup, and a first look at the accounts and coins you can manage.

Question 2

Do I need my recovery phrase during setup?

Accepted Answer

No. Your 24-word recovery phrase is written down by hand when the device is initialised and is never required on a website, in an app or in a chat. Anyone who asks for it is attempting a scam.

Question 3

Where should I download the Ledger Wallet app from?

Accepted Answer

Only from the official Ledger website or the official App Store and Google Play listings. Links in emails, ads and search results should always be verified against the official domain before clicking.
